Although it doesn't discuss the wisdom of reliance on aircraft carriers as modes of warfare change, this is an excellent article. The military stupidity in the oval office is reinforced now by the toady in the Dept. of Defense where anyone with expertise is either removed or silenced. And so we have a President who thinks aircraft carriers are like the buildings he is destroying - all they really need is his expert aesthetic management. So the Project 2025 Plan to dismantle anything that makes America strong - counterintelligence, diplomacy, competent government, expertise, etc. - is now being extended to our weapons, military experience and knowledge.
An excellent article. Such stupidity by the leadership and the horrific long-lasting impacts of that stupidity are just inconceivable.
